Will Spurs make £6m Loach poach?

It appears a dismal performance between the sticks for the England U21s during the 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Germany, hasn`t put off potential suitors keeping tabs on Watford keeper Scott Loach.

The Hornets stopper may well have fallen foul with a severe case of the 'Scott Carsons` on the international scene but he`s still a wanted man with Spurs reportedly ready to poach Loach from Watford for, wait for it, £6m!!!!

Yes folks, you read that right - £6m….

...or so says the sports desk at the Daily Mail (who dub him a "flop") & The Times, who must really be having a slow news day to think up such a figure for a guy with only 30 career games at Championship level to his name.

Lets face it though, if Harry Redknapp is really "ready to make a £6m bid" for a back-up to warm the bench whilst Heeurelho Gomes makes a clown of himself on a weekly basis, then the cash hungry money men at Vicarage Road will indeed no doubt listen - and well, who can blame them!

bit of a shock,i did not think a club would come in for loach at that price (if true). football does trough up surprices. scott has got potential,he is the wright age but would he benefit as a reserve goalkeeper at spurs.i would not like to see scott loach leave but with that sort of money we could offer smudger a new contract, and hang on to demerit and prisken. The first team as it was last season, there not one player that is not worth hanging on too,be great if we can keep the players and strenghten the side, rather than loseing our assets. Richard lee is not a bad keeper so if there is any truth in it,i think it could be in our favor

Seems extremely expensive to me (Spurs fan). The only game I've seen him play was the other night and he had a stinker. And as for the Mail, they're the worst source out there so I'd say there's nothing it this most likely.

I think our board would sell there own grandmothers to get a few shekels.. I just wished they would have stuck with the humble salad.. The Chelsea fans who now own our club are as skint as me...

hmmm maybe the Russos saw plenty of potential in the allotments behind the rookery though to expand their salad business? Whatever next... a greenhouse in place of the East Stand... hang on thats not a bag alternative!!!!

Hang on 1881, the russo's maybe skint, but they did invest £8 million when they came aboard first time, so that does show some comitment. To be fair, looking at how other clubs are positioned finacially, we are not as bad yet.
