Watford saved Sev from stalemate

Watford`s new midfield general, Scott Severin, reckons he is "delighted to sign" for the Vicarage Road outfit - if for no other reason than it avoided him going "stale" in the humdrum of SPL life.

The former sweetheart of Pittodrie heads south of the border on a freebie after being enticed by the braveheart spirit of Malky Mackay and insists "there were a few teams interested" but the Hornets beat off the pack of other hungry hounds for his signature.

Speaking to RedTV (the official station of Aberdeen FC - yes, really), wee Scott added "I said to myself if I get the chance to go at the end of my contract, I`d go…"

And why, you may ask, would he want to leave the glitz n` glamour of the SPL and the heady heights of playing away to Dunfermline on a cold Tuesday night?

Well, he reckons the SPL has got "a bit boring..."! He added "…10 years playing against the same teams. In that time, I could have played teams like Motherwell maybe 40 times"…

We see what you mean Scott. Severin still managed to chalk up 368 games in the SPL… 362 of which were at home to St Mirren!!!!

Lets hope he show us (the fans) a bit of fight or we may be struggling again for another season...

He sounds like a player in the mould of Eustace, who im sure is still with us. I would like to see the likes of Bangura and players of a similer elk, off the books.
