Real & Parma in Watford's pre-season

Real & Parma in Watford's pre-season

Watford will face a pair of former European Cup Winners Cup winners in a back-to-back double header as their pre-season climaxes with a spot of continental drifting!

The Hornets will do battle with newly promoted La Liga outfit Real Zaragoza as part of their training camp exploits in Barcelona before heading home to face Parma at Vicarage Road.

If the Watford first teamers thought their Spanish tour was more about indulging in sun, sea, sand and er Scott Severin, then the clash with Real Zaragoza will seriously focus the mind.

But it will be the visit of Parma to Vicarage Road that will be the real headliner ahead of the league start with Doncaster. The Italian side`s list of former players reads like a Whos Who of Footballing greats (and Tomas Brolin) - and the latest crop ain`t all bad either having just won promotion back to Serie A!

Whatever way you look at it though, tt`s an enticing end of the close season for Watford and one which is sure to whet the appetite a bit more than the usual bout of community service against St Albans, Borehamwood and Wealdstone!
