Hornets & Bees paired in Carling Cup

Hornets & Bees paired in Carling Cup

Watford will open their 2009-2010 campaign at Underhill after be(e)-ing paired with Barnet in the Carling Cup Round 1 draw.

The Hornets have only ever met the North Londoners of League 2 once before - that being a hard fought FA Cup 1st Round clash in 1997, when a double from Rocket Ronnie Rosenthaler saw Watford home with a 2-1 win.

Watford will know all too well the dangers of playing on the slope at Underhill mind you. They were well beaten 3-1 by the Bees in last season`s pre-season preparations.

Elsewhere and the not-so-Super Hoops of QPR won`t be fancying a trip to the South Coast to face newly promoted Exeter City too much whilst here`s hoping Burton Albion can bring Brendan Who? right down to earth with a bump when they face Reading away.
