Watford might not yet have a manager (look, we all know its Malky) but the Hornets have already made a few waves to mix up their midfield a bit in the close season.
Lee Williamson, once dubbed "the best midfielder in the league" by a certain Mr A Boothroyd, is on his way to Sheffield United for a fee believed to be in the region of £500K but Watford have swooped quick to line up his replacement.
Scott Severin, the former Hearts and 14-capped Scotland international engine room general, is all but confirmed (by the W`Observer) as a new Hornet after leaving Aberdeen on a free.
Severin, 30, originally told the media north of the border that he got "bored with the SPL" and had been linked with Ipswich, Norwich, Burnley and er, Rennes but it appears he is join Malky`s braveheart ranks at Vicarage Road.
With 348 career starts under his belt at only 2 clubs, Severin is clearly loyal and his versatility could be crucial in a small squad - The defensive midfielder has filled in at right back and centre back this last season, played as a makeshift striker and even taken over in goal during his time at Pittodrie.
Call him the modern day Steve Palmer if you will!
Let`s face it though, if the former Dons captain makes half the immediate impact that Don Cowie has made so far since moving south then his signing will be welcomed with open arms - regardless of where he plays.
