£275k Theo set for Robins (or Brighton)

£275k Theo set for Robins (or Brighton)

Watford`s bright young thing, Theo Robinson, is being lined up for a £275,000 summer switch to Swindon Town - unless Brighton Hove Albion hijack the deal.

It`s widely believed that the Hornets are ready to cash in on Robinson and a fee, rumoured to far exceed the £100k speculation, has been agreed with the Robins of League One.

Such a splashing of the cash by Danny Wilson and the Swindon Town board looks to have priced Southend out of any potential bid for the young Theo, who impressed on loan at Roots Hall last season.

But a deal that is "expected" to take Robinson to the City Ground isn`t quite a one-horse race just yet - or so it seems.

The W`Observer suggested that there "is apparently a 3rd side interested" but the ever so eager sports hacks down at The Swindon Advertiser have gone one better. They reckon the Robins could be forced into a "tug of war" with Brighton & Hove Albion who are ready to match the offer.

…and you thought the Seagulls were skint.

Whether the £275k deal is made up of an initial £100k upfront payment and a host of tie-ins and contract clauses noone seems to know but either way it seems a good chuck of cash for a lad who may well have found his level in the lower leagues.
