Rodgers Reading to retain Gibbs

Rodgers Reading to retain Gibbs

He might have been backed down from 12/1 to just 4/1 over the weekend to take up the managers vacancy at Vicarage Road but Nigel Gibbs has been told he has a future at Reading… if he wants it.

Gibbs, who`s current contract as first team coach at the Madjeski Stadium ends in 3 weeks, appeared to be in jeopardy with the Royals new, little known inexperienced boss, Brendan Who?, bringing his own team to Berkshire.

But after holding meetings with the former Watford nobody now in charge at Reading, Gibbs has been told he does feature in the new gaffers plans…

The sports desk at Berkshire`s finest local rag - The Crowthorne & Sandhurst Times -reckon Rodgers wants to "retain" Gibbs as part of his backroom team and the Watford legend will be offered a new deal imminently to build on his work with the younger players at Reading.

Then again Nigel - Rodgers might well change his mind in a week or so`s time so be on your guard.
