Brendan Rodgers is full of nothing more than hot air.
He said his "integrity shouldn`t be questioned". He told the chairman he was "100% commited to Watford". He told the fans he "was loyal" and that he "loved everything about the club" but he still left for Reading after just 192 days at Vicarage Road.
Disloyal Brendan became the latest graduate from the Steve Bruce School of Loyalty after signing on the dreaded dotted at the Madjeski Stadium. The guy is a mug!
Ok, so Watford will pocket a cool £1m for an untested, unproven, inexperienced boss who relies on his little black book of contacts to get ahead in life (oh, Jose how I worship the ground you walk on) but it still leaves a rather nasty taste in the mouth.
And if Rodgers felt it took him a while to get the fans on board at Vicarage Road then he sure has a battle on his hands dealing with the sky high, misplaced expectations in Berkshire and fans who appear not to want him in the job anyway.
A quick flick across the Royals fan sites suggest they are less than impressed with the appointment with many suggesting he is a cheap option - the odd supporter even wanting to hand their season ticket back to the club.
VitalWatford reckon the club should now go and get Reading first team coach Nigel Gibbs - after all with Rodgers taking the unproven Dean Austin with him to Reading, Sir Nigel will be out of a job in the next 48 hours anyway!!!
Goodbye Brendan. We would say "good luck" but we simply don`t mean it (and we wouldn`t just say something, if it wasn`t true - such a shame you can`t stand by the same principles).
