100% loyal Rodgers joins Reading

Brendan Rodgers is full of nothing more than hot air.

He said his "integrity shouldn`t be questioned". He told the chairman he was "100% commited to Watford". He told the fans he "was loyal" and that he "loved everything about the club" but he still left for Reading after just 192 days at Vicarage Road.

Disloyal Brendan became the latest graduate from the Steve Bruce School of Loyalty after signing on the dreaded dotted at the Madjeski Stadium. The guy is a mug!

Ok, so Watford will pocket a cool Ł1m for an untested, unproven, inexperienced boss who relies on his little black book of contacts to get ahead in life (oh, Jose how I worship the ground you walk on) but it still leaves a rather nasty taste in the mouth.

And if Rodgers felt it took him a while to get the fans on board at Vicarage Road then he sure has a battle on his hands dealing with the sky high, misplaced expectations in Berkshire and fans who appear not to want him in the job anyway.

A quick flick across the Royals fan sites suggest they are less than impressed with the appointment with many suggesting he is a cheap option - the odd supporter even wanting to hand their season ticket back to the club.

VitalWatford reckon the club should now go and get Reading first team coach Nigel Gibbs - after all with Rodgers taking the unproven Dean Austin with him to Reading, Sir Nigel will be out of a job in the next 48 hours anyway!!!

Goodbye Brendan. We would say "good luck" but we simply don`t mean it (and we wouldn`t just say something, if it wasn`t true - such a shame you can`t stand by the same principles).

LOL at all of this. I feel sorry for you guys, but that doesn't mean you can just make stuff up!

Want me to quote uroyals? then I will - check 606 and Reading-mad - fans are not happy....
DrWatford
Fair enough, but don't listen to the 606 morons. The vast majority of real Reading fans are very pleased with the appointment although we do genuinely feel sorry for you lot. All the best finding a new manger and good luck for next season.

I can confirm that Reading fans are very pleased Rodgers being appointed, anyone that saying they want to hand their season ticket back is either a wind-up merchant or an idiot.

I think we should go after Steve Clarke - he's been the real brains behind Stamford Bridge for many years and will have a contact book that makes Disloyal Brendan look amateurish

I have a slightly different perspective on all this and think we need a reality check. Buck came to the Vic under false information from the previous board, (he did not know the extent of our financial problems) they pulled out 2 weeks after he joined. He could have walked away then - but didn't. He stayed on, did a fine job and saved us from relegation. He was on a 12 month rolling contract which has been properly paid up. He certainly leaves us in a better position than when he arrived, so we should thank him for what he achieved and wish him well at Reading, where he will have decent resources at his disposal, although expectations will be higher. Yes I'm disappointed, because I thought he'd made some astute signings and also had got several of our key players playing well and was looking forward to the new season with Buck at the helm, but it's not to be. So let's get over it and move on without all this bitterness....Ps: I also think the board were quite happy to pocket the $500k minimum settlement as we certainly need the money and do not want to end up like our Blue Square Neighbours! Come on You Golden Boys,

Steve Clarke? He wouldn't be interested and we certainly couldn't afford him.
