Owls 'no' to Rasiak move (phew!)

Watford fans will breathe just a little bit easier this morning after news that Sheffield Wednesday have cooled their interest in the one man Championship goal machine that is Grzgorz Rasiak.

The Pole star, who netted 10 goals in 13 games for Watford whilst on loan from Southampton, was supposedly on the cusp of a cut price £300k switch to South Yorkshire according to many a source.

But Radio Sheffield have reported that the Owls desire to sign the frontman has dropped faster than a Saints team into League One…and it`s the players` wage demands that are to blame apparently.

It`s widely speculated that ol` Grzgorz is on £10k+ a week at St Marys and that figure alone means the administrators are having kittens down on the South Coast.

Even Mark Wotte, who insisted he wouldn`t let his Polish striker leave on the cheap earlier in the month, now states the player simply has to move on for the good of the club!

Where this leaves Watford and their plans to hopefully lure Rasiak in permanently, VitalWatford are unsure but at least he`s still up for grabs - even if Grzgorz is a stretch too far for the club coffers.

It's a sign from Saints that they are willing to trade if we can reach a deal on terms. If Rasiak can stay fit, he's a star man at this level and £10k / week could prove good value; however you've also got to consider the overall wage bill and implications on other players needing a new deal, including Macanuff and perhaps..... the one and only Tommy Smith? I will await further developments with interest...

The trouble is RFB, if he stays fit? i said when we first signed him that he is injury prone and he was out with injuries twice this season, would rather sign a player like him on a pay as you play, at least then we dont get sick notes every other week
