Hornets reveal interest in Ellington

Watford gaffer Brendan Rodgers has only gone and opened the rumour mongering floodgates by insisting that potential suitors are reportedly starting to circle around misfit Nathan Ellington.

The Hornets manager merely told the W`Observer that "apparently there are one or two offers on the table for Nathan so his future will be elsewhere" and already the speculation has started.

There`s a pretty strong rumour doing the rounds that he`s on his way out of the Watford wilderness to enjoy the delights on offer at Stadium:MK (presumably fuelled by stories on TalkSport AND the Daily Star) but he`d need to take a pay cut to join the Dons in League One.

Elsewhere, and Cardiff are the latest side to be linked - this time a £1m move to South Wales and a 3 year contract has been spouted about a bit of late. It could happen as soon as June 1st if you believe everything you read.

And if that wasn`t enough then Leicester are another name popping up with plenty of nonsense about Nigel Pearson knowing Ellington from his days as a backroom boy at West Brom.

Surely if Pearson was in the know after his Hawthorns experience then he`d be best placed not to make Duke his key signing for the Foxes fight in the Championship next season.

What is clear however is that no-one actually has any idea what the state of play with Ellington is these days (and nor do we care as long as he is off the wage bill).

Ive seen him at cardiff's training ground (vale), looking around. not with peter or dave but with one of the backroom staff.

the trouble is, he is back on our wage bill and probably will be untill players have to return to their respective clubs for preseason training, what ever he is on, wages wise, you can be sure he is eating in to our bank balance along with a few other of the misfits.

Please just get rid of him... He's total rubbish... Just give him away...
