Rodgers key to Watford Jobi stay

The agent of Jobi McAnuff has revealed that the revitalized Watford winger is ready to pack his kit bag and head off to pastures new… but only if Brendan Rodgers dares to leave Vicarage Road!

The Hornets wideman has had a new lease of life breathed into him since the arrival of Rodgers into the Watford hotseat and it seems the 'Brendan factor` has cleared worked with McAnuff now loyal to the cause with a new contract seemingly on the table.

But it`s the loyalty of gaffer Brendan Rodgers that holds the key to McAnuff`s stay in WD18 that is now so so important according to agent Tony Finnigan after the Watford manager revealed "there is no doubt the club want to keep [Jobi]."

Finnigan, who runs the well respected and highly regarded Players Lounge Football Agency in London told the W`Observer "If Brendan leaves then Jobi isn`t staying here beyond the year. If Brendan leaves there is no point [in him staying]."

Strong words indeed from a man once listed as 'one of the most influential black people in English football` but you`d expect that with a new deal on slightly reduced terms supposedly just around the corner.

Maybe Mr Finnigan would be best advised turning his attentions to his other clients - Mssrs Ellington and King - who face the threat of being footballing outcasts this summer....
