Have Hornets 'hammer'ed out deals?

Expect a bombardment of tabloid tittle tattle and rumour mongering linking a host of young Hammers to Vicarage Road this summer after Hornets gaffer Brendan Rodgers called in on an old Chelsea pal last week.

The W`Observer merely pointed out that Brendan Rodgers and Dean Austin spent a rather pleasant Thursday afternoon in the company of West Ham coach (and ol` Chelsea pal) Steve Clarke at the Hammers training ground.

But that`s surely enough to have the lazy journo`s on the redtop sports desks sharpening their transfer speculation pencils with eagerness.

The Hornets were linked with the likes of West Ham`s Freddie Sears (of only) and defender James Tomkin last season without anything materializing and here at VitalWatford we`re preparing ourselves for a rush or reports linking us with some of East London`s hottest prospects after this latest development.

Watch out for names such as Zon Hine (a pacy Jamaican striker), Jordan Spence (a defender who`s captained England at youth level), Kyel Reid (winger with Championship experience in abundance) and Holmar Eyjolfsson (a centre back rock from Iceland).

Either that or Gianfranco Zola is ever so keen to take Nathan Ellington off our hands next season…

Now that really would be something.

Interesting to see that Zola has already said that Freddie Sears needs to go out on loan and get first team experience

Bang on Andy710 - Sears in linked with a loan deal at Leyton Orient or Southend this morning all over the London commuter papers - I wouldn't rule him out of a switch to WD18.
