Hornets trial former Blues 'enforcer'

Watford continued their deep dive into the bargain basement of the transfer market on the hunt to pick up a veritable gem by trialing former Ipswich Town Academy captain Curtley Williams.

And guess what - the 19 year old, self dubbed the 'Enforcer` on his old Tractor Boys profile, is another centre midfielder!!!

CURTLEY WILLIAMS PROFILE

Williams has been without a club in the past year since being disgarded by the Portman Road outfit and a host of trials at lower league clubs such as Lincoln, Colchester and Grimsby have turned up fruitless.

The Hornets coaching staff run their roving eye over Williams during the stiffs 4-0 Derby day er, defeat to little known Blue Square outfit Luton Down. Not a great first impression then to endear him to the fans.

Still, it`s not all bad. The 6ft former U19 Blues skipper has been living it up at Glenn Hoddle Football Academy in Spain for a while - after being plucked from the ever-growing scrapheap for wannabes by Graham Rix and Nigel Spackman…

Oh, there just had to be a Chelsea connection somewhere didn`t there?
