Sir Elton wants 2010 Watford concert
Sir Elton John has re-seated himself as Honorary Life President at Watford and immediately moved to put some much needed cash back into coffers by offering to stage a concert at the club in 2010.
Reg, who`d sensationally quit his post after becoming disillusioned with the old board at the end of last year, chose today - his 62nd birthday - to announce his desire to put on another stageshow to "benefit" his beloved Watford.
Through an 'official statement", Sir Elton bemoaned "the terrible luck of penalties going against deep into added time" before stating "…I hope that in the summer next year we shall all be able to come together for another concert to benefit the club".
It`s been 4 years since the Rocket Man performed at Vicarage Road in front of a bumper 22,000 sell out crowd (mostly of season ticket holders) - an event that raked in over £1.3m if you believe everything you read on the web.
So today`s announcement will be a welcome surprise - especially given that plans for a 60th birthday bash at Watford was canned in 2007.
The most famous Golden Boy of them all re-iterated that the club "is in my blood" and added that he "cannot resist keeping up with the news about Watford".
