Is Watford boss flavour of the month?

Watford gaffer Brendan Rodgers has been shortlisted for the February Championship Manager of the Month award after seeing his Hornets climb up the table with 3 wins out of 3 in the league.

The Hornets boss saw his side pick up all 9 league points on offer and keep clean sheets in the process but a 3-1 cup defeat to Chelsea might put pay to Rodgers running away with the prize.

You`d expect Sean O`Driscoll to be front runner for the monthly award after steering his Donny Rovers crew away from the relegation dogfight with 12 points from 15 but Bristol City`s Gary Johnson might have a thing or 2 to say about the outcome.

The Robins from Ashton Gate chalked up the most points in the month, amassing 13 in all - including an impressive 2-0 away win at Reading.

Elsewhere and Cov`s Chris Coleman has been dubbed as the 'red hot favourite` for the award by the er, Coventry Telegraph (surprisingly) and appears to have arrived almost unnoticed up on the rails but 10 points, 3 league wins and victory in the FA Cup.

Coleman has already joked that he "wants nothing to do with it" given that the managers award is widely renouned as a kiss of death!

In truth, as always when it comes to the Championship, it really is up for grabs this month….it`s just great to see Rodgers in the running.

Very interesting team selection this evening, Smith & Cork on the bench! Would not have guessed that one. Let's hope it turns out to be a masterstroke of genius... Come on you Golden Boys!

Not so then, i would suggest it is a little early to be resting players, experimenting with team selection when we are still so close tp the drop zone, Charlton away is a must for 3 points.

Quite so, he'd just got the team playing well and talked about momentum etc, then does this, Bringing back Hoyte proved very expensive. Still Buck will learn from these mistakes I'm sure. Five more wins and we are home and hosed, starting on Saturday at Charlton. Come on the Golden Boys!

yes i have to agree, plymouth were the better team on the night, think brendon took a big gamble leaving out smithy and cork,a decision that seriously back fired, maybe he took the argyle to lightly,in the end we paid the price, overal we did not play that bad, just hope captain america is back very soon. come on u golden boyz
