'Cork would stay' hints Watford boss

Jack Cork loves Watford life so much that he would sign on the dreaded dotted for good given a choice. Well, that`s what Watford boss Brendan Rodgers thinks anyway.

Chelsea loanee Cork has been a right ol` Jack the lad since joining in January with a string of first class appearances and man of the match showings for the Hornets, who are now heading in the right direction.

Yet, as we know only too well of late (Foster, King, Hendo, Young, Spring), all good things do come to an end eventually but Rodgers reckons if it was down to Jack we could see a lot more of him in a Watford shirt.

Admittedly the Hornets gaffer does add that "we just need to assess it between now and the end of the season" but Brendan believes he has the board backing should the chance to capture Cork become reality.

Brendan told the Watford Observer "[Jack] loves it at Watford and has a real affinity with the place…If it was a case of does he want to come, then yes, he would, but he is in a different situation…".

That 'different situation` must be Chelsea`s desire to farm him out on loan to get Premier League experience next season and with Portsmouth already reportedly sniffing around it looks likely.

Some VitalWatford advice to Stamford Bridge if we may…just look at the amount of playing time Ben Sahar got at Fratton Park before making any decision. The hustle and bustle of Championship week in week out is a much better learning curve - then again Pompey might well be able to offer him that next season anyway!
