Watford striker catches Kab to Oldham
Hornets striker Steve Kabba has finally found a way out from the cold of the Watford wilderness by securing a season long loan deal at Boundary Road - the chilliest ground in England.
Kabba, who at £500k was another of Boothroyd's bad, bad buys when he made the switch from Sheff Utd in Jan 2007, has agreed to join Oldham Athletic after returning (almost unnoticed) from Blackpool.
Brendan Rodgers clearly isn`t a fan of the pacy ex-Palace and Blades frontman and the gaffer hasn`t even looked at him in serious action since Kabba came back from a spell at the seaside at Bloomfield Park in January.
But that hasn`t stopped Latics boss John Sheridan pouncing for his signature - after all he`s been keen on Kabba for a while according to the official Latics site.
Speaking on the Kabba signing the Boundary Park boss beamed "We need pace upfront and Steve has plenty of it. He has experience at the top level…he will bring us something different…".
Strangely Sheridan then added that "hopefully Kabba will score us a few goals"…
Hmm. With a record of 3 goals in 47 league games over 2 years of action, we`d advice the Oldham faithful not to hold their breath waiting mind you….
