Watford striker catches Kab to Oldham

Hornets striker Steve Kabba has finally found a way out from the cold of the Watford wilderness by securing a season long loan deal at Boundary Road - the chilliest ground in England.

Kabba, who at £500k was another of Boothroyd's bad, bad buys when he made the switch from Sheff Utd in Jan 2007, has agreed to join Oldham Athletic after returning (almost unnoticed) from Blackpool.

Brendan Rodgers clearly isn`t a fan of the pacy ex-Palace and Blades frontman and the gaffer hasn`t even looked at him in serious action since Kabba came back from a spell at the seaside at Bloomfield Park in January.

But that hasn`t stopped Latics boss John Sheridan pouncing for his signature - after all he`s been keen on Kabba for a while according to the official Latics site.

Speaking on the Kabba signing the Boundary Park boss beamed "We need pace upfront and Steve has plenty of it. He has experience at the top level…he will bring us something different…".

Strangely Sheridan then added that "hopefully Kabba will score us a few goals"…

Hmm. With a record of 3 goals in 47 league games over 2 years of action, we`d advice the Oldham faithful not to hold their breath waiting mind you….

Yes Kabba was a bad Boothroyd buy alright and there are many others for sure, but why continue to paint Aidy as a total disaster? He did achieve some great things during his spell in charge, the first season was unforgettable and he brought many good players to the club (Marlon, Hendo, Foster, Mackay, Spring, Tommy Smith, Loach, *Shittu, etc) and developed several of the youngsters.... The recent form of young Priskin (also bought for £500k I think) is also worth noting, although Aidy wasn't able to get the best out of him. So let's not fall into the trap of bad-mouthing the ex?? Although, I may be less charitable towards Aidy if we are forced to take Ellington back.... Come on you Golden Boys!

Priskin actually cost £1m+ by all accounts - I am one of Aidy's biggest fans but there is no getting away from the fact that we are paying the price for his awful dealings in the transfer market.

Yes Doc, there were certainly a few duds amongst his signings and we've still got some of them hanging around. I didn't realise Tamas cost £1million, however he's looking a snip at that price now. Onward & upward with Buck!

Aidy's choice of signings were poor, but im sure the scouts that filed reports are just as accountable. Ellington coming back, i don't think that would happen, what with Derby paying a loan fee, if he did, would it really be a disaster? afterall, im sure he would fit in with the new way of playing, just like Priskin has, remember guys, its not that long a go a lot were saying how awful he is
