Rodgers hails Premier League Priskin

Watford boss Brendan Rodgers has heaped praise on Tamas Priskin, stressing that the in-form Hungarian hitman is "Premier League" quality.

The young Hornets striker has been the cause of fans bemusement for the past 2 seasons but with 10 goals to his name now and his scoring boots firmly in place, Priskin is starting to look a proper Championship frontman.

But after seeing Priskin seal all 3 points with a 85th minute strike at Bloomfield Road, Rodgers reckons Tam is a man who would fit in easily at the top level.

The Hornets gaffer told the official club site "That finish [there] is a the mark of a top, top striker… Jobi [McAnuff] rolled what seemed like an easy pass, but it wasn't. He rolled it into Tamas' feet and how he finished - he is a Premier League striker. There's absolutely no question about that."

High praise indeed for the player who has now scored 8 in his last 13 games - including strikes against Chelsea and Tottenham.

But Brendan wasn`t finished there with dishing out the odd bit compliment or 2. He added "Tamas is a great project. I know the international player and how they work and they are not always the big British battering ram, but they have to show moments of strength. It's just the case of keeping on at him about his work rate because there is absolutely no doubt he has the big qualities."

Ok, so he might not be considered Championship prolific just yet and he is still a lazy so and so but boy, if his goals keep us up then he`s fine by us.

Never thought I'd say it, but Tamas is starting to look a bit of a bargain buy (nice one Aidy!). All credit to the lad and young Buck for getting him to play; wonderful thing confidence. Come on you Golden Boys!

I think Aidy could have destroyed Priskin. He was never gonna be a Henderson and being told to use the elbow when jumping for the ball, was never gonna be his bag. still a lot to learn, but the main thing is his value, his contract is up at 24 and so even if he wants to leave it wont be on a free. so lets get 51 points and watch the others suffer a bit and push on next season

so has brendan won over the Watford support yet?
