Weather won't affect Watford - Rodgers

Watford boss Brendan Rodgers refuses to blame it on the weatherman despite seeing the crunch 6-pointer with Southampton postponed due to snow.

The Hornets gaffer insists the disruption to matchday routine and training schedules in Hertfordshire won`t have done any lasting damage to his team and reckons "it`s part and parcel of the the season".

Speaking through the official site, Rodgers offered a warming front on the icy outlook as he stressed "This enforced break in the schedule in the Championship is unplanned but it certainly doesn`t do the players any harm… You`ve just got to deal with the chaos it [the weather] bring."

He added ""It hasn`t been ideal, however, it`s something we have to accept and try and find the best solutions we can - the staff and the players have all coped well with it this week, it's been disruptive for sure, but its part and parcel of the season and you have to deal with it and be ready."

Sadly, with tomorrow`s do or die clash with Saints now ruled as a non starter the Hornets have very little to "be ready" for!

Mind you, spare a thought for the Southampton squad - comments out of St Mary`s all week have stressed that the players are right up for the game and the players had even been bought in on their days off to be 100% prepared for the relegation dog-fight!

Oh well, never mind.
