Watford's Loach gets England call

Watford's Loach gets England call

Watford`s rookie goalkeeper Scott Loach has received a surprise call up the England U21 squad to face Equador next week despite only making 42 career appearances.

The Hornets young stopper was on standby for Stuart Pearce`s 22-man squad for the friendly match with the South American`s in Spain on Tuesday but has been drafted in to replace injured Posh goalie Joe Lewis.

Regular U21 keeper Joe Hart has been rested this time around by the England gaffer as Pearce looks at his options between the sticks ahead of this summer`s European Championships in Sweden.

Loach, who has already been linked with a move to Liverpool, Newcastle, Man City and Spurs, has mad the number 1 jersey his own at Vicarage Road this season after being farmed out on loan to Bradford and Morecombe.

That Loach boy`s getting moer like a certain Mr Foster with every game (except for the dodgy cruciate that is!)

Well done Loachy, this will surely leave no one in doubt that you are first team keeper, and good ridance to Poom and Lee at the end of the season,
