'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Relegation not a concern to Watford boss

Watford gaffer Brendan Rodgers has insisted he simply isn`t concerned that his side currently languish in bottom 3 of the Championship…

The Hornets are hovering dangerously on the brink of falling into footballing wilderness of League One but Rodgers remains adamant his side won`t slip through the relegation trapdoor come the end of the season.

Speaking after seeing his side lose 3-1 to table toppers Wolves, Rodgers stated "I know from this result we drop into the bottom three but it doesn`t concern me. I'm not worried. We've just come through a period of playing all the top teams and I knew this would be difficult".

He added "We have got Cardiff to play and Birmingham but apart from that it is the team down and around us in the middle to bottom half".

And it doesn`t get any bigger than next weeks crunch 6-pointer as 2nd from bottom Southampton roll into town for a Vicarage Road showdown.

An unfazed Brendan, who added last week that he still had aspirations of the play-offs, went on to add "If we continue to show that fight and that quality then we will certainly climb the table through the rest of the season.

'If you look at out performance [v Wolves], and against Burnley and against Palace then we have got great hope for the rest of the season".

You might not be concerned Mr Rodgers but here at VitalWatford we`ve got a horrible sinking feeling.

The only thing is Rogers is that the other teams near us are getting points

If we play as we have done in last few matches we'll get enough points for safety.
