Watford had Wolves on edge - Rodgers

Watford boss Brendan Rodgers has stated that he believes the 3-1 scoreline at Molineux so, so flattered Wolves and that his Hornets had the table toppers 'on edge` throughout the full 90 or so minutes….

…and for once the opposition agree with him - well kind of!!!

Whilst many sunday redtops will report that Wolves were worthy winners, Rodgers totally and utterly disagrees insisting his Watford deserved much more than they got.

Speaking after the clash at Molineux, Rodgers stated "We can go to a team who are top of the league, and we had [Wolves] and their supporters on edge for the whole game…I thought if we had a little bit of luck today, we could have had something from the game."

He added "I think the scoreline maybe flatters a wee bit as I think our performance was very good today - I am proud of the team".

The Watford official match report even suggests that "the scoreline failed to tell the story of a game that was far far tighter than that" and that the Golden Boys were "more than a little hard done by".

And VitalWatford are somewhat surprised that the same view is shared by Wolves gaffer Mick McCarthy, who admitted "Watford caused us problems with their 2 wingers and centre forwards - they`re no mugs that`s for sure.

The straight talking Yorkshireman added "We were never going to just wipe the floor with them and they`ve contributed to a really good game."

Blimey…maybe it`s not just another heap of post-match pin from the Watford camp after all!,.
