Watford coy on Cowie's Highland fling

Watford have suddenly gone all shy in the whole Don Cowie saga after news broke that the Inverness Cally midfielder had signed a pre-contract to join the Hornets in the summer.

Cowie, who is widely recognized as one of the hottest prospects in the SPL, had been touted for a summer move to either Rangers, Aberdeen or Preston when his contract at Caledonian Stadium ends in the summer.

Now it appears he well may have already signed on the dreaded dotted line at Vicarage Road with a host of red tops running the story as well as the BBC and Sky.

Mind you, it`s all quiet on the Watford front and nothing has been made of the rumours on the official site whilst the W`Observer reckon the club have gone to ground on the whole affair.

Strange, given that former Ross County skipper Cowie looks a pretty handy midfielder with a goalscoring touch and has been linked with a host of decent clubs for the past month or so.
