Fulham turn attention to Williamson

Fulham have moved on from John Joe O`Toole but are still keen to add a Hornet to the band of merry men at Craven Cottage.

Oh yes, whilst rumours surrounding Irish U21 O`Toole appear to be yesterday`s news, Hodgson is reportedly lining up a £1.5m move for Watford`s Lee Williamson instead, according to the Mirror.

Williamson was once dubbed as "one of the best midfielders in the Championship" by former boss Boothroyd`s rampant motivation machine but has since been in and out of the team under Brendan Rodgers.

Yep, he`s got a shot on him, does have a bit of a reputation for putting over a good set-piece and likes a bit of niggle but £1.5m for a journeyman player seems a big gamble.

In all fairness, here at VitalWatford we`d question if Willo was actually 'Premiership quality` or the get up and at em grafter that the Cottagers would desire to fill the boots of Jimmy Bullard…

Still, would be a great deal for the club if they can secure that kind of cash.

Not exactly flattering, the description of this lad:) Its typical for us to buy some lottery ticket from the Championship! Since Bullards exit everything is going haywire at The Cottage! Cheers from a Fulham fan and good luck for the season.

I think Willo is a good player but he's stretched at Championship level if I am honest. Then again with the likes of Northampton and Rotherham on his CV we shouldn't expect him to be Champions League should we!!!! He's not young either.

i hope it is just paper talk

we can not afford to lose williamson at this stage,we don't have much deph in the squad,to lose lee now would be a blow, especially now that bridcutt is coming to the end of his loan spell.for me i would rather watford offload the like's of kabba, poom,or even gareth williams, surely that would decrease the wage bill considerbrably, great result last night,i think were come away with a point or even three aganst the wolves, come u ''ourns''

find this one hard to believe willos a good player at this level it seems any half decent player weve got gets linked with fulham suprised tommy smiths not been linked with them

He is an average championship player, but bearing in mind that when the fulham manager was at blackburn he paid 7 million for christian Daley, so that tells you a lot about his judgement

so will you lot sell him?
merlin
if i was Rogers i wouldn't sell him but like he said money speaks

It also appears that Watford are about to sign Inverness Caledonian Thistle midfielder Don Cowie (who's also a target for Rangers) so either Williamson or O'Toole might well be moved on to make way.
