Terriers capture Watford's Lionel

There just had to be a catch didn`t there.

Lionel Ainsworth wasn`t recalled from Hereford because he was in undoubted flying form that Brendan Rodgers could put to good use.

Oh no, Lionel is about to sign for Huddersfield Town for an undisclosed fee after the Terriers confirmed on their official site that the pocket rocket winger is about to sign a 2 ½ year deal at the Galpharm Stadium.

Ainsworth signed by Aidy Boothroyd last January for a Bulls record fee, is currently having a medical with the Div 1 outfit with a view to a move.

New Huddersfield boss Lee Clark reckons Lionel is "hungry to do better" and the Watford winger was "chased by a number of Championship clubs during the January window".

NO JUST AMAZING :D

Trust me Terrier24 - you'll be disappointed in a few weeks time. Lionel is all showboat n' no substance.

ainsworths no better than mcanuff and if selling him means we can bring in a new central defender then i welcome it

well it looks like Rodgers wants rid of both with McAnAff apparantly turning down a switch to Charlton - Claude Davis looks like a lad they want to bring in with a bit of steel for our sieve of a defense.

Does anyone think that Ward would be a good buy ? he played well when he was on loan to use

Ainsworth had only a couple of starts this season and not so many last year, that is hardly much of an opportiunity in my book. Anyway, he's gone so let's move on. In answer to Jack, yes I thought Ward looked useful in his loan spell and added some much needed physical strength to the back line.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ward did make the move south from the black country. Rumours are Wolves want O'Toole in the package though and won't release Ward until they get him.
