Confidence is sky high - Ainsworth

Just when it seems confidence has hit an extra low low at Watford, the Hornet`s pocket rocket winger, Lionel Ainsworth, admits he`s flying on loan at Hereford.

The young wing wizard is once again picking up the plaudits in his second spell at Edgar Street but insists he wants to bring his great form back to Vicarage Road.

The struggling Bulls are desperate to keep Lionel on loan for another month and it`s no surprise . The Watford winger netted twice and set up 2 more in the 5-0 drubbing of Oldham at the weekend to earn him a place in the Div 1 Team of the Week.

But despite regaining his status as a fans favourite at former club Hereford, Ainsworth insisted he is keen to get back to Vicarage Road action. He told the official Bulls site "I am a Watford boy and hope I have done enough to get a place in the first team there".

He added "…My confidence is sky high".

And a host of fellow League One`ers agree. Hereford front man Steve Guinan heaped praise on him, stating "[Lionel Ainsworth] must be a nightmare for a full back, I'd dread to play against him."

Whilst Old Man Windass (on loan at Oldham) added "The boy Ainsworth - on loan from Watford - he was outstanding. He tortured our full back. He had pace in abundance."

Lionel may well be dancing on the ceiling in Div 1 but he`s never won 3 points whilst in a Watford shirt …

Maybe he`s found his level?

Ainsworth has never been given a decent chance to show what he can do for WFC, whereas McAnuff has had many opportunities and has failed time after time. Get him back and give him a try!

I think he has had enough chances, he is very quick player, but we are talking about a player that could not cross the ball and even shoot on target, perhaps he has found his level, but if we wait a few months, we might drop to his level and then he can play like a star for us.
