Wolves - Watford star not worth £1m

Wolves - Watford star not worth £1m

Wolves have pulled out of the race to sign Watford free-scoring midfielder John-Joe O`Toole after the Hornets quoted a 7-figure sum for the Irish U21 international!

The Black Country`s finest local rag - the Express & Star - reckon the Molineux moneymen have been put off by Watford`s asking price of £1m, suggesting that John Joe simply "isn`t worth anywhere near" Watford`s valuation.

Erm hello. O`Toole has scored 12 goals in 36 games from midfield, has international recognition and is being earmarked as one for the future by the likes of Fulham and Newcastle.

All this from a club that reckon their prized winger Michael Kightly is worth a cool a £7m!!!! Are they having a laugh?

If John Joe isn`t worth £1m+ then Wolves` transfer listed centre back, Darren Ward, should command a fee of no more than £200k…

but VitalWatford be he won`t be when Brendan Rodgers goes knocking.

As a Wolves fan I have to say I agree with you... to a point. O'Toole is worth around £1million but only with add ons. He hasn't proved himself to be good enough to be a regular starter yet. As for Ward, well £200k would be a good price for him. He's a competent and professional player but not much more. There's been no word from anyone other tha the Express and Star that we've had or ended any interest in the first place so I wouldn't be surprised if we did end up signing him! BTW, £7Million wouldn't buy Kightly!

IF O'Toole is worth so little, why would they interested in him? Classic case of trying to unsettle a player by "showing interest" and then trying to get him on the cheap because he then wants to go and we need the money.
