Spurs say Adios to Watford kids

Watford`s U18 and U16 sides won`t get the chance to earn their Spurs this January after Tottenham pulled out of the Premier Academy League clashes to go on tour in Mexico.

Oh, how the other half live huh?

Spurs have decided they`d rather face the likes of Lokomotive Moscow, Real Madrid as well as sides from Uruguay, Argentina, Japan, Chile and Bolivia in the prestigious Copa Chiva`s U20 tournament than face a Watford youth side high on confidence.

And it`s not just the Hornets kids who have been kicked to the curb as Spurs head west. Oh no - Birmingham have been served up a brum deal too by the big time charlies at White Hart Lane.

Spurs say they will rearrange the fixtures with Watford, which were due to take place on Saturday 24th Jan … which is kind of them…

We hope they choke on their fajitas!!!

sadly this is all about developing our youngsters and not about accomodating Watford. Spurs youngsters are building up a very strong reputation throughout europe after winning 3 of thir last european toournaments and losing another on Pens. as well as the development side there is also the question of finance. Does te comp in mexico offer more financial incentive to spurs, sadly this is the way of football today and with clubs investing so much money into academies it may have been an offer spurs couldnt refuse.
