Fans: King worth £3 million

Fans: King worth £3 million

According to our online Poll, Watford fans believe that The King of Vicarage Road is worth £3million.

King has been a revelation in a Watford shirt since signing from Nottingham Forest in December, following a successful loan-spell, for £500,000.

The South London-born striker, often referred to as The King of Vicarage Road or King Marlon by the Watford faithful, has bagged eighteen Championship goals this campaign making him the division’s leading goalscorer .However, the former Gillingham forward has more to his all-round game than just goalscoring; his natural pace and raw talent has seen him set up numerous goals this season and form a lethal strike-partnership with Darius Henderson.

At a mere £500,000 King represents Aidy Boothroyd’s shrewdness in the transfer market and is, according to a previous online Poll conducted by Vital Watford, his best signing.

Poll results in full:

How much is King worth?

£500,000 19%

£1,000,000 9%

£2,000,000 10%

£3,000,000 31%

£4,000,000 6%

£5,000,000 + 25%

Just under a third of supporters who voted valued King at £3 million whilst a quarter of fans who voted valued the striker at £5 million plus. There is however, one category that wasn’t in the Poll but should have been.

The category? Priceless. Which what King, and of course Boothroyd, are.
