Bangura's Watford days are numbered

Watford`s Sierra Leone international midfielder Al Bangura is a wanted man…and thankfully it`s not the immigration office who are after him this time.

Oh no. A trio of League 1 clubs are reportedly scrapping it out to snap him up from a bit part role at Watford with Leeds, Millwall and Leicester leading the charge for a loan deal, according to Sky Sports.

The engine room grafter made headline news in 2008 when he won a successful battle against deportation from the UK with the Home Office hell bent on packing him back off to Africa.

Now it seems his Watford days are numbered after Hornets boss Brendan Rodgers reportedly made him available for loan. The arrival of Cork and Bridcrab obviously put Bangura right down the pecking order.

After all, it`s not been a particularly pleasing few months for Al. He was sent home from a pre-season training camp in Austria after playing up and felt the wrath of Aidy Boothroyd when he departed for international duty against the boss`s best wishes.

So it`s hardly surprising then that he hasn`t started a league match for the Hornets since March 2008…

Here at VitalWatford we can`t believe for a second that a 'Save Al Bangura from League 1 obscurity` petition will catch the public`s imagination this time around.

Bangura has not really progressed since our Promotion Year 3 seasons back, not sure if he'll turn it around but would like to see him give it a go and wish him well.
