Watford 'privileged' to have Hoyte

Brendan Rodgers has stated that his Watford side are 'privileged` to have Arsenal reserve team skipper and England U21 international Gavin Hoyte join the ranks.

Speaking of his new arrival, Rodgers was simply bursting with excitement, insisting "Gavin is a boy I have watched over the last couple of years, he`s a wonderful talent, [a terrific talent] and has got a big future at Arsenal…"

Jolly Rodgers went on to add "this is a great move for us and we are very privileged".

And what can the Vicarage Road faithful expect of the boy Hoyte. Well, "[he`s] very very quick, aggressive and competitive strong for a young guy and he understands tactically his role" - according to the gaffer…

…but he`s hardly gonna say he`s a dud is he!!!!

Then again, by all accounts Arsen Wenger holds him in high regard (hence a long term contract was signed just days ago) and a Gunners fan site suggests "he is athletic, versatile and quick".

So we`ll just have to wait and see - but not for too long as young Gav` is expected to make his Hornets debut at home to Scunthorpe in the cup tomorrow.

6ft Hoyte has only made 1 Premier League appearance for the Gunners - that being in the 3-0 defeat to Man City, one he`d probably want to forget - but has played in a number of impressive Carling Cup showing by those pesky Arsenal kids.
