Hoyte & Cork make Watford moves

Watford boss Brendan Rodgers has been quick out of the traps in the January transfer window to snap up Arsenal`s Gavin Hoyte and Jack Cork from Chelsea on a season long loan.

England U21 international Hoyte, brother of Sunderland`s Justin, is a right back who can also play at centre back. Rodgers reckons he`s "very, very quick, competitive and strong" - which bodes well but could mean the end of Reliable Lloyd.

Cork, on the other hand, comes to WD18 after Rodgers used his Chelsea contacts to lure the England U21 centre back away from a loan spell at St Marys. Young Jack has played 25 times for the Saints so far this season and was Scunthorpe 's Player of the Season last year so will know all about the rough and tumble of Championship life.

And that`s not all folks. The Watford gaffer is also keen that others follow the 2 new defensive recruits to Vicarage Road in the transfer window. He reiterated "…hopefully there will be one or two more coming in as well."

So stay tuned to VitalWatford for all things Yellow as they happen.

Cork will prove to be a great asset - just visit Vital Southampton to see what they say about him!

He is a top player. I don't think he has missed a game for us this season and he has looked a different class compared to our other defenrders. He can also play in defensive midfield which is another strength. He's only 19 and he's definately going places. You are very lucky to have him! I'm so gutted he's gone. I never really considered that he'd leave St. Mary's, just assumed that he would renew his loan as he seemed like he was getting on well with us. Hope he doesn't do TOO well for you!!!
