Watford on verge of keeper signing
atford are on the verge of signing goalkeeper Stuart Searle from Carshalton United (and Chelsea reserves) - according to the Carshalton United manager anyway!!!
Searle caught the eye of Brendan Rodgers playing for Basingstoke Town and was quickly drafted in to act as reserve team cover at Stamford Bridge where he has also done the odd spot of goalkeeper coaching with the Blues (well it sure beats painting and decorating).
Now, after playing for Watford reserves against Ipswich, Searle is being lined up by his former mentor for a spell at Vicarage Road - putting the future of out of contract Richard Lee firmly in the balance.
Speaking to Non League Daily paper, Carshalton boss Hayden Bird said that he wouldn`t stand in the way if Searle wanted to leave Colston Avenue to reunite with Rodgers.
He stated "Stuart is obviously known by Watford boss Brendan Rodgers from his time at Chelsea and he has been training with them recently. It looks like may sign with them and I wish him all the best if he does"
The Rymans Premier Division Manager of the Month for November added "I would never dream of standing in anyone`s way over a move like that."…
Searle has recently been in form against the likes of Canvey Island, Maidstone and Markyate as well as AC Milan reserves.
