Loan offers a plenty for Watford

Brendan Rodgers has revealed that he was inundated with offers of loan players as soon as he took the Hornets hotseat - which all bodes well for a busy January!

The former Chelsea reserve team coach has never hidden his lengthy contacts list and Frank Lampard Senior, too, has promised to nip into his little black book to bring quality into Vicarage Road.

But it might be easier than we all first thought after Rodgers confirmed "I was only in here a couple of days and I was offered a whole load of players before the window shut and some very good players, but I wanted to be fair to the players that were here".

The new gaffer did move quickly to secure the loan signing of Chelsea reserve team captain Liam Bridcott and, whilst the Blues youngster splits the Watford faithful with his crab-like sideways passing, he has started every game under Rodgers.

And now we hear that defensive reinforcements are being lined up as well as a striker who 'can change a game` - so that Ben Sahar/Scott Sinclair rumour is bound to be back at full swing in the Sunday papers.

No doubt the Stamford Bridge fax machine will be on red alert whilst you wouldn`t back against a number of those pesky Arsenal kids finding their way over the training ground wall.
