Watford kids flat at Pancake Lane

Watford`s Academy side have put in credible performances against Inter and Valencia of late but they were bought down to earth last night in the Herts Senior Cup.

In fact, the side that faced Crespo, Walter Samuel and Oliver Dacourt were well and truly embarrassed last night by Leverstock Green after a crushing 3-0 defeat to the local non-leaguers in Round 2.

Ok, so there was no first team experience on show and the side was made up of 1st and 2nd year scholars but it will still go down in the record books as a cup shock!!!

But Watford weren`t the only league side to face embarrassment in the Hertfordshire FA premier tournament. Oh no - League 2 outfit Barnet suffered a 3-0 1st round defeat at the hands of former Conference National side St Albans.

Yes there are bigger fish to fry and the likes of Eddie Oshodi (England U17), Marvin Sordell and BoAntel won`t be particularly scarred by their Leverstock loss but winning is a good habit to get into.

Herts Senior Cup holders, Borehamwood, started their defence of the trophy with a comfortable 3-1 win over Sawbridgeworth Town.
