Simpson calls time on Watford reign

A motion for shareholders to propose a 'vote of no confidence` in the current Watford board was withdrawn today after the surprising resignation of Hornets chairman Graham Simpson.

The Russo Brothers, known commercially as Valley Grown Salad, had tabled the motion for discussion at this morning's bizaarely timed AGM but Simpson threw in the towell early on - after over 6 years at the helm.

Simpson - who has been involved with Watford for 9 years - hands the reigns over to non executive director Andrew Wilson (who will head up Watford Leisure) with immediate effect.

Rumours had been rife that the Russo`s - both ardent Chelsea fans - were preparing a takeover bid after being removed from the Watford last season amid much controversy.

Am i any of the wiser? frankly No!! i am sure that you guys would have read other websites. All you can read with what has happened is that the Russo's have presented somthing that does not quite add up and have presented it to Simpson, what that is i do not know, Was he made to resign? i suspect this was the case, he has always said he had nothing to hide, well it is apparant he has, because a deal was done to keep it quiet!
