Lampard eyes new Watford signing

Watford`s new 'footballing consultant` Frank Lampard Snr reckons he`s already out and about sniffing out fresh new talent to bring to Vicarage Road…and quick.

The W`Ham legend was drafted into new look Hornets backroom team to build on Brendan Rodgers' extensive knowledge of hot prospects hidden away in Premier League squad lists...and he`s has wasted no time acting on it.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Lampard Snr said "I will be helping Brendan in any way I can, with individual coaching, looking at the opposition and running the rule over potential signings."

He added "We need to get a few in quickly and will we be looking carefully at the loan market".

In fact, Lampard Snr was running an eager eye over prospective loanees, just 5 hours into the job - checking out the talent on show during Spurs` 2-0 reserve team defeat to Stoke at Leyton Orient`s Brisbane Road ground.

And heaven forbid, that opens the floodgates for the transfer speculation to begin…

Chelsea`s Ben Sahar and Scott Sinclair have already been linked to the Hornets by a dog-earred sports hack short on a story whilst Dorian Dervite of Tottenham is another name to emerge this morning….

Quelle surprise.

I have no problem with Lampard scouting for new players on loan and acting as mentor for Buck as Burkinsaw did for Aidy, although with the sudden influx of new managerial / coaching talent and the retention of Malky (who did well and rallied the troops), it does beg the question: Where is the money coming from all of a sudden? Or Perhaps Simpson was keeping Aidy on a very tight rein after last season's excesses and we are now moving forward again..

I do tend to agree with you RFB, but the accounts do not lie and unless we have new funding or are arranging a loan, i can only see us selling to fund perhaps loan signings or free players!

if you want talent - Gael Kakuta at Chelsea!
