Mad 5 minutes cost Watford - Malky

Watford caretaker boss Malky Mackay slammed his side for "a mad 5 minutes" and a "lack of nous" after Watford threw away a 1 goal lead to lose 2-1 in the 6 pointer at Barnsley.

The Hornets racked up 13 shots on goal and seemed to be heading to victory after a cute Tommy Smith finish but a quick fire 60-second double gave the Tykes a lifeline.

Speaking to the official site, Mackay said "We`re disappointed because we played some good stuff. We scored a good goal and for 20 minutes in the second half looked fairly comfortable".

The Braveheart caretaker boss then added "If we`d have got a 2nd goal I think we`d have killed them off but we dropped a little too deep to our 18 yard line, invited pressure and in the space of five minutes we`ve lost two goals…".

A 'mad five minutes' indeed.

It seems that the Hornets are being done for every single lapse in concentration even when they`re playing well - a fact not lost on Malky.

Sounding very much like Boothroyd mark II, Mackay added "…it shows that any little error in this division is going to get punished".

Next he`ll start talking about 'oranges being squeezed` or describe Adrian Mariappa as the 'next Paulo Maldini" and we`ll all be doomed!!!!

The defence needs to sort them selfs out and Lee is just rubish running out again and not even getting to ball, put tyler in goal untill loach is fit again

I don't get why Malky has meddled with the attackers when his priority should have been the sieve of a defence...Why didn't Ward, Hoskins, Rasiak or O'Toole play?
