Watford to earn their Spurs in cup

The cash strapped Watford board most likely got their wish as the Hornets were drawn with Harry Redknapp`s reinvigorated Tottenham side in today`s Carling Cup quarter final draw.

The Hornets, who had knocked out W`Ham and dismantled Swansea`s unbeaten home record on the way to Round 5 avoided the Arsenal Kids and Man Utd but still drew the short straw out of the velvet bag.

up holders Spurs were the one side most teams would have been keen to avoid after their 4-2 smashing of Liverpool in Round 4 but the big money-spinning tie against a local Premier League outfit will have gone down well with the Vicarage Road bean-counters.

Only 8% of Hornet fans wanted to the see the famous cockeral encrusted shirts paired with Watford and, no question, it will be a tough ol` tie for Malky Mackay`s men.

Still, as Burnley proved at Stamford Bridge in midweek, anything can happen in these one off games…

The Quarter Final draw in full - games will be played wk comm. 1st December.
