Laws plays down Watford link

Laws plays down Watford link

Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws had a mad 24 hours yesterday after the Sun linked him to vacant manager`s job at Watford only for the Owls gaffer to rule himself out hours later.

Those dog eared sports hacks down at the 'current bun` (don`t you just love 'em) reckoned the former Grimsby and Scunthorpe boss had caught the wandering eye of the cash strappped Hornets board but also suggested he could replace Colin Calderwood at Forest!

Talk about hedging your bets…

But Laws, who is out of contract next summer and still without a new deal, was quick to distance himself from the speculation insisting he was "hoping over the next week or so to talk to the club about [my] future at Hillsborough".

With Wednesday a mirror image of Watford - seeking fresh investment and cutting their financial cloth accordingly - you`d be hard pressed to find a reason as to why Laws would choose to jump out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Still it was nice whilst it lasted!!!!

Most Wednesdayite's cannot understand why it has taken so long for contract talks to come round, this guy has worked minor miracles with a paper thin squad. We believe Laws will eventually take our club back to where we belong.
