'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hornets eye Jolly Rodger & Wilkins

Watford chairman Graham Simpson insisted he`d have no hesitation in appointing another young, little known, boss to the Hornets management hotbed and, by god, he seems intent on doing so.

If you believe everything you read then the Hornets board are off on a jolly day out in the big smoke to poach little known reserve team coach Brendan Rodgers from under the arches at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea backroom boy Rodgers is right up there in the Aidy mould - his playing days in the football league at Reading were cut short through injury. He`s made such an impression at youth team level that they`ve given him the job of managing Roman`s expensively assembled bunch of stiffs..

But Brendan the Blue is not the only 'Who?` now rumoured to be raising a few eyesbrows across the Watford board.

There's bags of speculation from many a source that reckon ex Brighton boss Dean Wilkins is also set for a spell on shortlist.

Former QPR apprentice and ex Seagulls legend Wilkins spent an eventful 2 seasons as the Withdean gaffer and chalked up a 38% win rate over 102 games.

So that`s an unknown from Chelsea or an unknown from Brighton

But remember one thing folks, we all went 'Aidy Who` just over 3 years ago and look what happened!!!!

I hear Gus Poyet is in the frame as well!

How I'd love Gus to join the Watford ranks - single handedly turned Leeds round a few seasons ago before jumping ship to Spurs....but his wage bill would surely kill us.

Yes I can't see Simpson signing up a big name in the current situation and the job will be Malky's - if it looks like he might be able to steer us clear of relegation this year.
