'If It's Football, It's Vital'

I wannabe Watford boss - Hessenthaler

King of the shoestring budget and former Hornet legend Andy Hessenthaler has insisted that he`d love the chance to manage Watford if the opportunity arose.

Hessenthaler, who is currently sitting pretty at the top of the Ryman Premier League as gaffer of Dover Athletic, racked up over 200 appearances for the Hornets .

Speaking to the ever so clever watfordlegends.com fansite, Hessie stated "I have never made a secret of it that I would love to get back into managing in the professional league again one day…I would like to be managing Watford ideally."

The 43 year old no doubt has the passion to be big hit with the fans, knows all about managing on tight financials and motivated Gillingham to punch above their weight for many a year.

He even has a keen eye on developing a youth policy which could sit nicely with a Watford board hell bent on stripping the club of all its playing staff and relying on the Academy scholars to fill in the gaps.

Hessenthaler, who is close friends with Nigel Gibbs and former Hornets assistant boss Peter Taylor, added "I have a lot of time for the Watford fans and the club itself - I owe Watford a lot…"

So bring it on then Hessie. You can start repaying the fans by sticking in an application and bringing some much needed desire back to the Vic.

With the greatest respect, i am not sure that andy is the man, but then, i have not got a clue who would be. At the end of the day, one thing is sure, the next manager will be on the cheap. Having to watch Simpson on tv with his smug features was just to much. On the radio this morning too and then just as things can not get any worse, i get invited round to the mother-in-laws for xmas, bloody great!
