Deja vu for Watford centurian Lee

Deja vu for Watford centurian Lee

Watford`s 3rd choice goalkeeper, Richard Lee made his Hornets debut against Preston North End way back in March 2003…and 99 games later is expected to chalk up his 100th game against the same opposition!

Spooky! (although, in truth, he`s only set to play because the Hornets have no-one fit!).

'Centurian to be` Lee, though, has taken a while to chalk up the golden milestone in a Hornets career as 'second fiddler` whilst an orchestral line-up of top quality keepers (and Espen Baardsen) came and went.

The Oxford born stopper, who apart from a season spent cleaning Brad Friedel`s boots on loan at Blackburn, has spend 7 years as a pro at Vicarage Road.

Watford will be hoping Lee`s 100th game doesn`t go the same way as his debut against PNE - a 1-0 home defeat.

Incidentally, it was Lilywhite - and ex Luton Town (- 30) man - Graham Alexander who beat Lee all ends up from the penalty spot…a feat he repeated at Turf Moor on Tuesday night, during Burnley`s 3-2 win…

5 years and 8 months on.
