Watford boss to punish underperformers

Furious Hornets chief Aidy Boothroyd has insisted he`ll "punish" the players who "didn`t do their job properly" after seeing his side throw away a 2-1 half time lead to lose at Burnley.

The Watford boss blasted that his players will learn the harsh lessons of life outside of football AND he promises to make changes to his side.

After watching Wade Elliott nick the points for Burnley at Turf Moor, Boothroyd fumed "Changes must be made and there will be changes within the camp, that`s for sure."

He further ranted "Like any other walk of life, if you don`t do your job properly then you get punished for it - We didn`t do what was instructed for 90 minutes…If you don`t do that you get punished"

In truth though Watford have rarely put a full 90 minutes of football together under Boothroyd in 3 seasons so why should a defeat at Turf Moor - a ground where the Hornets have always suffered in recent years - be any different?

And it remains to be seen whether the likes of Bromby, Eustace and Williamson get the 'punishment` they deserve for some pretty poor showings in the last few games.
