Hard-up Hornets to fight FA fine

Cash strapped Watford have been dealt another financial blow by the doddering bods at the FA disciplinary committee after the club were slapped with £25k fine.

The Hornets admitted charges of "failing to control their players" during the mass 22-man brawl on the opening day at Selhurst Park after a mistimed tackle by Lee Williamson bought chaos on the pitch.

25k? 25k? - That`s 2 ½ weeks worth of Matt Jackson`s time (if you believe everything you read) and no doubt that will mean then the board will have to sell off another fringe player or cancel the contract of an Academy starlet to cover the costs…

No surprise then that the club website has confirmed that they "will be appealing against the severity of the punishment issued by the authorities"…

After all, even Palace hardman Shaun Derry admitted it was "just a case of handbags" at the time.

Just goes to show the justice system in the FA is worth SH!!. If this had been man utd or anyone with money, slap on the wrist, but, they have to pay for wembley some how!

Yep Palace also received the same £25k bill from the FA so I bet Mr Warnock is seething!!!!
