Green Army want Watford revenge
It might be some 6 months since the 'Home Park Water Fight` but Plymouth`s Green Army still haven`t let it lie insisting Watford are 'cheats, long ball and boring'…
You`d have thought with their beloved Pilgrims rooted to the foot of the Championship table with 0 wins and a mere 2 points - as well as a 2-0 cup loss to Conference-bound Luton Town (-30) - they`d have more important things to dwell on…
…or at least taken a bit of time out to 'dry off` at least?
Not so it seems. VitalPlymouth editor (and all round good egg) Paul Williams reckons Hornets chief Aidy Boothroyd "pushes the black arts of the game to extreme" and then branded the entire Watford playing squad "damaged goods".
Speaking to VitalWatford, the popular Pilgrims fans site editor-in-chief said "Sorry but Watford and their style of play annoys many football fans…there was a lot of bad feeling the way the Watford bench behaved in the match at Home Park last season."
He added "It was correct to send off Peter Halmosi but the Watford players and officials in the dug-out should take a long hard look at themselves."
Nothing came of a supposed FA probe into the shenanigans and VitalPlymouth were left to vent their fury at the Hornets in the pre-season review of 442 magazine insisting Watford were "the team they`d really like to beat" this season…
In truth though, let`s face it, after Plymouth`s miserable start to the season, they`d "really like to beat" anyone on current form!!!
But despite past heated exchanges - which could make for a tasty ol` atmosphere at Vicarage Road tonight - the VitalPlymouth editor did offer a few crumbs of comfort for the Hornets faithful, reluctantly admitting he "can see Watford flirting with the play-offs".
And, with our all new Super Soaker pump action and a small haul of water balloons ready in hand, we`d take a spot of 'flirting` come May.
