Boothroyd: 'Baton down the hatches!'

Hornets supremo Aidy Boothroyd has declared that he is more likely to be shipping yet MORE players out than bringing any in today, deadline day for four months.

'Baton down the hatches and switch off mobiles, we don't want to lose any more players before the transfer window closes.'

Watford have lost several key players over the Summer, most notably the like of Darius Henderson and Danny Shittu and without last terms two top scorers Watford have lacked cutting edge in frot of goal.

One player linked with a late swoop to Vicarage Road is Crystal Palace's James Scowcroft, wanted by a number of Championship clubs. Neil Warnock's 500k asking price will surely prove a stumbling block unless someone departs.

Meanwhile, Reading boss Steve Coppell went one better in his post match interview after thumping Palace 4-2 on Saturday. The ex-Manchester United winger confirmed that sadly his phone had fallen from his pocket and broken and that a replacement would arrive in the next week!

One man on the move is Sol Bamba who has joined Hibernian for 100k from Inverness.

Hope this is all just media nonsense, as I Can't believe we are about to spend £1/2M on Scowcroft, as we don't have the money and we don't want him. Rasiak is a far better player and is already here! And also we mustn't sell any of current first team squad especially Smithy!!

Well I agree with everything you said there, and as long as Priskin, Lee, Bangura, Francis aren't first team squad members in your eyes, I'd like rid of them to pave the way for a new striker and a dominating centre mid or centre back. Sound good?
wfc123
Would not think that is true, otherwise i am sure we would have seen that right back sign and centre back sign, Could still see a main plaer going though, do hope not,
ANDY710
Am I alone in thinking we don't need a right back? I seem to be the only person to think so at the moment. Doyley has proven his worth in the last few games and Mariappa is on par with Lloyd. Throw Bromby into the equation and we look sorted at right back. Could do with a centre back to challenge DeMerit and Bromby though.
wfc123
Need cover at centre back for sure and do not have an issue with the likes of Bangura & Francis leaving - if anyone wants them! The news that Reading have rejected Everton bid for Hunt is good news for us, perhaps Smithy will stay after all!
RFB-gloryhornetboys
I like Francis, he came on saturday, one freekicks, slowed the game down, a quality player,i am sure we are yet to see him playing at his best, but once injury free and match fit, he will be a good player for us

We will have to make do with what we have... The team needs everyones support... So get behind the lads and let march on....

Well all worked out on Saturday with everything we have. Possible that we can do well with this small, slender team ?? YELLOW ARMY!!!!
