Would Rasiak be right for Watford?

So Polish striker Grezgorz Rasiak appears to be the striker with 'Championship quality and international pedigree` that Aidy Boothroyd has so desperately chased all summer long (according to plenty of sources anyway).

And with the signature of the out of sorts Saints striker expected on a Hornets contract any time soon, we ask VitalWatford visitors the key question in our latest fans poll…

Is Grzegorz the right guy to fire the Hornets frontline?

With 33 goals in 63 starts for Southampton and over 35 caps for Poland his record, his stats can`t be questioned but let`s not forget those spells at Spurs and Bolton where he failed to rip up too many trees.

Ok. So there`s a whole bunch of glory hornet fans out there screaming "Anyone but Priskin" at the screen right now but you gotta ask yourself will Rasiak really fit into the new style of play…

Or does he give us the option of that all important Plan B….

Good player with real quality, only problem i can forsee, is injury, always getting injured and out for long periods, hope that is not the case this time

I think Rasiak would be a big player for us as he has that knack of upsetting centre halves and find the net (how very Hendo) but my main concern is will we be tempted to hit it long as he's good in the air?

But has he been strongly linked with us or is it another rumour

Would prefer Helguson, but Rasiak will score goals given the right service....

It is good that at last we have signed a player, but so very sad that we do not have enough money to sign a right back, but hey that's what happens when you have an idiot in charge of the club! i must wonder, has Chairman Mao, oops! Simpson, taking a drop in his salary, ok, so he is still owed £600K, but am i right in beliving that this his what he takes as a salary each year?

Din't waste the money on this no hopper... We need a forward who can play in a team. Healy of Helgerson would be better in my view... Unless your sure Aidy don't buy him or he might become another Ellington... Why not wait till the right man comes up...

Come off it Watford1881 - Healy is way to short (he just doesn't score goals domestically) and hey we have a bunch of small strikers! We needed a big presense up top and Rasiak fits the bill perfectly. Forget Helgu - he's yesterday's man.

Prem class is better than Championship class in my book... If GR is as good as you say Southampton must have one hell of a front line...

is Tommy Smith "yesterday man" too... Why if he's played for us before is he automaticly no good anymore...

We've signed Rasiak so it's probably time to stop this debate and welcome him to the Vic. He's a decent player with a proven goalscoring record at this level, he had a great partnership with Smith at Derby a few years back when they bagged over 30 goals between them. Give the man a chance. Come on You Golden Boys!

1881, your still looking for players from the premiership with premiership wages, HH will not come back to watford, unless Simpson has gone, Thats Fact!! Healy, did not want to come to watford, even when we hada greed a fee with Leeds for him, way back. come in to the real world, if Rasiak is fit, his goal scoring rate is excellent, Can not recall how many goal him and Smih scored together at Derby, but it was high, so stop moaning and start supporting!

AB reckons with the service Rasiak will get from Harley, Smith and McAnuff then he could easily bag 20+ goals this season. Would be nice but we also need Jobi to start chipping in as well...Remember Cardiff at home last season anyone?
