Pardew - We're in same boat as Watford

Charlton Athletic boss Alan Pardew reckons Watford are "in the same boat as Charlton" with money too tight to mention but expects the winds of change at Vicarage Road to benefit Aidy Boothroyd's boys.

Pardew told the official Addicks site "Aidy Boothroyd has made a conscious decision to change his style this year at Watford, and I think he and the team will be better for it".

He added "They`re less direct now as Aidy has decided to play a more fluid game and I thought they were the better team in their 0-0 draw at Palace [on the opening day] although Neil Warnock wouldn`t agree".

After a summer that has seen both sides lost key players (and a man mountain centre back a-piece in Shittu and Bougherra) to balance the books, Pardew couldn't help but draw similarities between the Championship rivals, stating "Watford are in the same boat as us, finances are tight after a season in the Championship, so we'll see who's best equipped for the season after Saturday".

Yes Alan, we shall see.

i expect a great game... Charlton are a good well run team with the potential to gain promotion... It is sure to be a test for the Hornets...
