'I was Watford's clown' - McNamee

'I was Watford's clown' - McNamee

Swindon Town`s pint sized former Hornet, Anthony McNamee, has revealed that he was 'just the clown" at Watford and his tricks were used to paper over poor performances.

Speaking after picking up the man of the match award in Swindon`s 3-1 win over Tranmere on the opening day, McNamee said "Not so long ago at Watford I was just the clown. When thing weren't going well I`d be sent on to distract the crowd from the scoreline".

The 5ft6 tricky winger, who has been dubbed a 'big asset` to the Robins by Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp, made over 100 appearances for Watford but more than 60 of them were as a super sub when the chips were well and truly down.

McNamee added "Swindon allowed me to do my own thing with one condition. I need to do more defensively".

Well, that was always the flaw wasn`t it Macca!!!

McNamee shut up and get on with your sad league one football... The reason you are doing so well at Swindon is coz the teams you play are ****... Plus the opposing players are too scared they will snap you in half if they tackle you munchkin...

Decent attacking threat, but other than that offered little, plus 9/10 crosses were crap.
